During the operation of the tube, on the surface of the screen it is induced loads electrostatics that, although it does not represent a danger for the man, provokes the powder warehouse that in the long run degrades the quality of the image. For this reason it is opportune to clean up the screen with specific products (produced periodically adapted cannot damage the been reflected covering, if present).

Because of the presence of high tension, the inside of a television apparatus attracts much powder, that it can be removed with a moderated compressed air jet, possibly to the open.
The external surface of the cathodic tube comprised between the screen and the neck is covered from one fine black powder of grafite. Its scope is to realize the armor of a condenser in a position to accumulateing and levelling generated high tension (the other armor is an analogous covering on the internal surface of the glass). This powder, that it could seem to a profane eye a simple warehouse of dirt, does not have absolutely to be removed.
